What's God up to?
Ever wonder what God does all day? Does He just sit there or is He doing something? In 2 Chronicles 16, we get an idea of what He does. The King of Judah was under attack and rather than seek God's help, He called on the King of Syria. He was later rebuked by the prophet Hanani who reminded Him of God's help in the past. Then He said this; "For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro thoughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong of behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him..." God wants to show Himself to us; He wants to show us His strength when trouble happens. But when we try to solve it ourselves, we're not allowing Him to do so. God won't compete with us. If we tell Him we don't need His help, He'll allow us to try, knowing that very soon we'll come back to Him for help. His strength is sufficient to solve any problem we have. So what's the answer to the question 'What is God up to?' Simple. God is busy looking for ways to reveal Himself to you and me and the rest of the world. He wants to show us His strength so we'll rely on Him this time and trust Him more the next time. His eyes are constantly sweeping, just looking for situations where He can step in and show Himself. Be encouraged the next time something happens in your life that you can't figure out; God is looking for just such a situation. |
